-The Hard-Disk -No more small, expensive little
memory cards that can only hold like one games worth of saving. And faster load times too (if not any load times!)
-Rock-Solid Controllers- Now, I know what your thinking, the controllers
are too big! Well thats why the invented controller "s". Personally I prefer the originaly controllers becasue I first learned
with them. And they're actually comfortable! I know thats hard to believe, but no more R1, L2 that you barely use crap
that keep your hands cramped.
-Official Xbox Magazine- Yes, we know, PS2 and Gamecube have their
own magazine's too, BUT every single issue comes with an Xbox Game Disk, stuffed full of playable demos, video strategies,
features and interviews. Also without the knowledge provided by OXM, you might buy the wrong game or do the wrong move when
tough gets going and going gets tough!
-Remote Control- While some people may complain that they have to
buy the controller for a mere $30, it actually is worth it. Lets say your on a date, would you rather have the DvD remote
handy with you or the PS2 pad? "Ooh, that was a killer scene, let's see it agin... um, press square then circle, then triangle
while holding L2... no, that's L1." I think you get the point.
-Music Manager- Now you can listen to your favorite tracks while
playing along with your favorite game!
-733 MHz Processor- The PS2 features a 294.912 MHz central
CPU while Nintendo's Gamecube is powered by a slightly more powerful (when compared to PS2) 405 MHz PowerPC. This all means
that XBOX is capable of handling graphics, while at the same time free up a workhorse CPU that can be used to make physics,
AI, and player interaction more realistic than ever before.
-Graphical drive- In terms of polygon power, special effects,
and ease of use, nothing comes close to the XBOX console in the world. While the PS2 does have an impressive graphics-processing
architecture (147.456 MHz), but even it doesn't match up with the XBOX GPU (233 MHz). Gamecube's "Flipper" chipset lags behind
as well. (202.5 MHz)
-FOUR Controller Slots- Sony still expects you to pay $35 for a
multitap if you watn to play against more than one friend. And while Nintendo offers four-player action, it inevitable
involves one player getting stuck with a fluffy pink character.
-Dolby Digital 5.1 IN-GAME- It alsmot is worth buying a kick-ass
speaker system just to ehar the pinging of bullets off of your characters back. The PS2 proudly trumpets the fact that
it supports Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, but it doesn't say that it only supports it during DVD movies and FMV sequences, not
gameplay!
-No horizontal Stand Necessary- Our PS2 keeps tipping over unless
we use its horizontal stand. Umm, we mean our "friend's" PS2. We certainly wouldn't own a PS2-would we?
-Xbox System Link Cable- This means that you are able to do that
massive LAN party you've always dreamed of-right?! You can hook up to 8 xboxes depending on what the gaem your playing can
support (Halo 16 players-4 Xbox's, NASCAR Heat 32 players - 8 Xbox's)
-Simultaneous Textures- Even though we've said it has the most powerful
graphics processor for a console on the face of this Earth, we thought we'd rub it in a bit more. Simultaneous Textures means
that it can first render a texture, then light it, then add a bump mapping effect, and still have time to run another color
lighting pass. And this happens every single frame, up to 60 frames per second.
-Polygon Throughput-They're just numbers, but the Xbox can push
125 million polygons PER SECOND! (almost twice as many as the PS2) Even the PS2's staunchest supporters admit the Xbox can
crank out more poly's.
-You'll be able to get one-Sony promised the world - and then failed
to deliver enough units when it introduced the Playstation2. Many gamers had to wait up to 5 months just to get one. Microsoft
has definetly learned from Sony's mistakes.
-!!!!THE GAMES!!!!!- Other than HALO, the greatest game ever
created, there are hundreds of other games, that the devolopers ACTUALLY WORKED ON, you sometimes get these games that have
no storyline or are just, really messed! The point is the games are mostly why you should pic up and Xbox!
* Reasons why you should buy an Xbox were taken from OXM's Special Edition
"70 Reasons why you HAVE to get an XBOX" to prove that XBOX is the greatest console out there, and PS2 and Gamecube, merely,
suck!
