The Covenant- The Covenant forces have spent more than thirty years
trying to wipe out humankind. Becasue their efforts have been so successful, and because few Covenant troops have ever been
captured alive, little is definitively known about their origins, society, or motivations. Intercepted communications and
battlefield reports indicate a religious underpinning to their genocidal campaign.
JACKALS-With superior senses of sight, hearing and smell, Jackals serve
as scouts and assassins for the Covenant forces. They use plasma pistols and carry a strong energy shield to compensate for
their physical weakness; a well positioned Jackal can hold his own against several Marines, though grenades are effective
against them. They stand approximately 5'8" tall.
HUNTERS-Hunters stand 12' tall, though in their combat state they contract
to approximately eight feet. Hunters fight with a fuel rod gun integrated directly into their armor. They carry an enormous
and nearly-impervious metal shield made of and unknown alloy, which may be sometimes used as a melee weapon.
GRUNTS- Approximately 5' tall and relatively weak, Grunts tend to travel
in packs and stick close to more powerful allies. Individually they are easy to defeat, but in groups they can overwhelm careless
marines. Their armor seems to house some sort of life-support mechanism. They are known to use a variety of weapons including
the plasma pistol, plasma rifle and plasma grenades.
Elites- There are a few varieties of the Elite, but all are roughly 8'6"
tall and incredibly strong. Their strength allows them to rely on brute force when neccessary, but they're quite capable of
brilliant battlefield tactics as well. Their natural ressiliance is augmented with full-body energy shielding which recharges
when depleted. They wield plasma pistols, plasma rifles, grenades and needlers.
- Invisible
The Elites who are invisble and
are the weakest. You will always see them with a glowing plasma sword. Just look for the hovering glowing sword, and you will
know it is an invisible Elite.
- Blue
These are the lowest rank of Elites. Out of all
Elites, this is the most seen one. They carry a plasma rifle with them and can take a very good beating. So be prepared for
a battle.
- Purple
More improved version of the Blue Elite. They
of course have more battle tactics and carry a wide array of Covenant weapons.
- Maroon
A rarely seen Elite, which is very hard to kill.
Once again they as well carry a wide array of weapons and will give you a very good beating won't attack you with melee unless
you go up to it, but it will be glad to inflict you with pain through firepower.
- Gold
Very powerful Elite, sort of the leader of them
all. They will always carry a plasma sword with them its mostly one-hit kills so don't get in it's way.
- Black
The best of the best. These guys are not to mess
with. They are seen carrying any Covenant weapon including grenades. Combat wise, they are very quick and deadly, if your
not on top of your game when you encounter one of these bad-boys, your dead!
THE FLOOD- In
contagious spore form, the Flood is more than capable of sucking your shields down to zero - and your health shortly thereafter
- if enough are present. In combat form, they're deadly...and ugly. Physically more powerful than their mutant form might
suggest, and possessed of nothing so much as a compulsion to spread the disease. They are the Covenants only known feared
enemy, and it is not uncommon to allow both enemies to neutralize eachother and leaving you a freshly blooded pathway
to walk on-how kind!
INFECTION FORMS- These little nasty critters are very small compared to the normal sized Flood. When they attack they come in very large
numbers. They are prone to be seen either crawling on the ground or on walls. It is also capable of large jumps for short
distances.
CARRIER FORMS- Their
main use is to serve as an incubator for future spores. The Carrier form is very slow, but once you start shooting at it,
it explodes and releases the smaller infected forms.
COVENANT WARRIOR- This Covenant "Flood" Warrior is very deadly and fast. They are known to use their
tentacles to attack and can boost quite a punch. You will see them with either Covenant or Human weapons. It can also jump
very large distances.
HUMAN WARRIOR- Just
like the Covenant Warrior, the Human Warrior is much weaker. It also is a lot slower, but it has the same jumping capability
as the Covenant so look out above you as well as to your sides and below you. They have a preference for the Human weapons
especially shotguns, and assault rifles.
FORERUNNERS
343 GUILTY SPARK- 343 Guilty Spark is the "monitor" of HALO.
SENTINELS- Sentinels are the guards over HALO, with the monitor, their boss,
343 GUILTY SPARK. They are shielded, have a laser beam, but after a few shots, the laser has to recharge.
